The colours are the family's favourites, with blue representing the sea and sky; the two broad white stripes represent the two sons, and the light blue stripe in between them represents the daughter of the family; the thin white and black stripes in the centre of the large blue area represent the parents as origin and centre of the family. For the personal use of Peter Nocken, his immediate family and descendants only and may only be woven by mills in the UK with permission of Peter Nocken or his descendants.
